Clark Speaks at International and Regional Conferences

Fall 2018 saw several regional, national and international conferences. In October, the Northeast Asphalt User Producer Group (NEAUPG) met in Atlantic City, New Jersey. NEAUPG covered a variety of asphalt-related topics including cold asphalt pavement recycling. VAA Executive Vice President Trenton Clark spoke on the evolution of cold pavement recycling in Virginia and highlighted the results at the NCAT Test Track, I-81 rehabilitation, and I-64 reconstruction. The first ever International Conference on Stone Matrix Asphalt was held in Atlanta, Georgia, November 5 to November 7. This conference was attended by over 250 people from around the world. Presentations focused on SMA activities in the US, Europe, Australia, and South America. Clark gave a presentation on the 25-Year History of SMA in Virginia. Along with Clark, VTRC Scientist Hari Nair presented on the recent research completed in Virginia. Proceedings from the conference will be distributed by NAPA in the coming months.
