On November 4 and November 29, the Asphalt Pavement Alliance will host a webinar on PaveXpress Version 3.0. PaveXpress is a free online pavement design application developed by Pavia Systems. Following the design and rehabilitation methodologies outlined in the 1993 AASHTO Pavement Design Guide, users can develop new pavement designs (i.e., asphalt and concrete), as well as determine asphalt overlay thicknesses as part of a pavement rehabilitation.

 

New to Version 3.0 is the addition of a cost estimating module and inclusion of EverStress. Everstress is layered elastic analysis tool developed by Dr. Joe Mahoney at University of Washington. New or existing pavement structures can be analyzed with EverStress to determine the loads to failure mechanistically. This added feature will allow the PaveXpress user to evaluate their new design (based on 1993 AASHTO) or a user input design to see if it is under or over designed from a mechanistic-empirical perspective.
