In an effort to help explain the different procedures necessary to register for classes or get recertified we have included step by step instructions in this months update.

Class Enrollment Reminder*: 2017 VECAT schools are still open for registration on the Germanna Community College website. These certification classes include Plant Levels I and II, Field Levels I and II, Slurry Surfacing, Surface Treatment and Mix Design. Class size is limited to 25 individuals per location, so make sure your employees sign up early to secure a seat.
To become certified in any of the areas listed above, sign up for classes on the Germanna Community College website:
- Once the student profile is completed, go to Workforce Services/Courses and Registration/Transportation and Motorcycle to locate the desired course (please note that courses are organized by Online and Classroom format). Once a course is selected, it can be moved into your cart and paid for online via credit card.
- Complete the course per the direction included. Please note that classroom courses will only be offered from January through March 2017. Online courses are available throughout the entire year. The schedule of classroom courses can be found on the Germanna website.
For students wishing to register for WCG grant funded classes:
- Follow the same steps taken to enroll in any class but ensure that the selected class is WCG applicable
NOTE: Currently only the Field I class is WCG funded
If you wish to become recertified:
- Navigate to the VDOTU URL
- Search for the desired class using the Search function
- Complete the course per the directions included. Please note that once the course is completed, the validation process to re-approve the certification could take up to two weeks.
- If a hands-on proficiency is required for re-certification, follow the directions included to complete this process
- All recertifications must be completed by 12/31/2016.
