*2018 MCS Class Schedule – NEW CLASSES ADDED*
2018 MCS classes are well underway. At the time of this newsletter’s release, we will have completed two Field I and Field II classes, a Plant I and II class, a week-long Mix Design class and a Slurry Seal and Surface Treatment class. We listened to feedback from our students last year and many tweaks have been implemented to make class materials more accessible, the books easier to follow and updated photos and information on content covered. This translates to greater student success and a higher percentage of passing grades!
Due to high demand for the Field classes, we have added another round of classes in April, and have altered the location of some of the classes being held in February and March. Please pay close attention to the
updated schedule below and contact Germanna CC if you have questions about your class or class location. MCS Class Schedule can also be found on the
VECAT Material Certifications Schools page of the VAA website.
**Remember that as of January 2018, all MCS certifications must be renewed every five years. There is no longer a recertification process. If you have a certification coming due this year, you must sign up to complete either the classroom class or the online class BEFORE December 15, 2018. This deadline includes all proficiency testing required for that course. Pre-requisite classes for a given course do NOT need to be completed if your certification for that pre-requisite class is still active.
*2018 Cold Recycling Classes*
The 2018 Full Depth Reclamation (FDR), and Cold Asphalt Recycling – Plant and Field classes will be held this spring. Check the 2018 class calendar on the
VECAT Materials Certification Schools page of VAA’s website for dates and location. If you have questions about these or other courses, please contact Cartha Branham (Germanna) at (540) 891-3070 or Carter Iseman (VAA) at (804) 288-3169.
