The Scoop from the Blue Ridge Apartment Council

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

We are staying busy at the Blue Ridge Apartment Council with many educational events and seminars. One of our fairly new, annual seminars, that has proven to be quite popular and helpful to our industry professionals, is having Grimes Creasy speak about collection efforts. He covers many different topics during the session, to include garnishments, homestead exemptions, filing a Levy and Writ, judgments and possessions, unclaimed security deposits and liens against personal property. We also like to have fun after hours with our members, so BRAC hosts quarterly socials at local hotspots around town where we provide hors d’oeuvres and a prize drawing. We are trying something new this month with a happy hour and trivia night. There will be cash drawings and a 50-50 raffle. This event and our socials provide a great way for our members to unwind while networking and team-building. The snowy winter has held us from hosting our annual December luncheon where we announce our next year’s Officers and reveal our professional awards. We plan to combine this event with our March 25th luncheon. We are also looking forward to our annual VRLTA and Fair Housing seminar with Grimes Creasy on March 13th and CAM SLAM beginning March 18th. Our membership continues to grow monthly with both Owner/Manager and Associate members.
