VRHC Chapter Update
In March, we hosted a Lunch & Learn in Waynesboro and heard from representatives at Dominion Power regarding the proposed AC Pipeline and how that will affect our region financially. This event was sponsored by Farrell Insulation.
In April, we hosted a Morning Motivator in Waynesboro that featured representatives from local law enforcement to discuss the current drug trends and educate property managers on what they should be looking for as signs of drug activity on their property. This was sponsored by Pure Environmental Solutions. We also hosted a Happy Hour at Capital Ale House in Harrisonburg that was sponsored by Off Campus Partners.
A Legislative Panel was held in Waynesboro on May 21st and our panelists included Delegate Steve Landes, Brian Gordon (VAMA Lobbyist) and Renee Pulliam (Past VAMA President). Delegate Landes spoke about the importance of having members (real people with real jobs) engage in the legislative process. Renee Pulliam related her experiences at the General Assembly Building and why it's so easy and really does make a huge difference. Brian Gordon reported on some highlights from the 2015 session and the issues that will be impacting our members’ as a result of this year’s efforts.
