UPPER DUBLIN: The developer of a proposed apartment building in the Fort Washington Office Park, armed with binders describing the project, presented his plan to the board of commissioners Nov. 9, but left without the nod of approval he appeared to be seeking.
  
The idea is to woo millennials to an area now largely devoted to parking lots for the shipyard, a handful of government buildings and aging, often empty commercial buildings. "The potential of this city is immense."
  
Another large apartment complex has been proposed near Massaponax, continuing a recent trend in that part of Spotsylvania County. In recent years, Spotsylvania supervisors have approved several mixed-use developments that include plans for about 2,700 apartments. For instance, plans for the Jackson Village development next to Cosner’s Corner call for 695 apartments.
  
In April 2012, a Navy F-18 jet crashed into the apartments. Many referred to the incident as a a "Good Friday miracle," because no one was killed in the crash, including the flight crew.

The newly branded Roanoke Lynchburg Regional Apartment Council knows that a name is everything. Over the past two years, RVAA has been recruiting membership and expanding our chapter into the Lynchburg area so the association felt it was time to change the name to reflect its membership.
  
RVAA announced their re-branding to RLRAC at the 2016 Star Awards on November 18th. Our award program was once again a successful event, hosted at The Patrick Henry Ballroom in downtown Roanoke. Read the full article for a list of winners.
