Touted as the first of its kind development, a nonprofit housing provider partnered with Lawson Companies to redevelop old housing stock.
A Petersburg based developer received approval from the Amherst County Board of Supervisors for density for up to 40 apartments and the former elementary school was also named to the National Register of Historic Places.
The Richmond Redevelopment Housing Authority chose a company from New Jersey to begin rehabilitation work their housing projects.
Zoning changes have been requested so that the Econo Lodge on Parkway Drive to allow the motel to be converted into affordable apartments.
Developers in Richmond's Manchester area are ready to bring 215 more apartments to the area as part of a mixed-use project.  20% of the units are planned to be income-based apartments.
A new development of 96 income-based apartments with primarily 2- and 3-bedroom units will break ground soon off German School Road with 2-bedroom rents planned at $1,000 per month.
The developers of Libbie Mill are planning at least 350 additional apartments for the next phase of development.
Approval from Richmond City Council was given for a hybrid development.  245 age-restricted units are planned along with a mini-storage facility open both to residents and non-residents.
