The Virginia Apartment Management Association’s Blue Ridge chapter hosted their Annual Prestige Awards on Friday, January 8, 2021. The Prestige Awards recognize excellence in the field of property management and this year’s event, sponsored by AFR and Apartments.com, was held virtually due to COVID-19 guidelines. Judging was completed virtually by impartial judges who viewed questionnaire forms and video tours of Charlottesville area communities, as well as conducted remote video interviews of team members. Those judges have recognized the following apartment communities and staff as leaders in the field of property management.
The National Multifamiy Housing Council has reported that 76.6% of multifamily renters had made a full or partial rent payment as of January 6, 2021. This is down 1.7% from rental payments received by January 6, 2020, but up 1.2% from payments received by December 6, 2020.
The company has committed $2 billion to markets where it has or expects to have at least 5,000 of its employees in the coming years. The money will be used to preserve and create more than 20,000 affordable housing units.
