National collegiate housing provider EdR and developer Landmark Properties recently partnered to build the 829-bedroom apartment complex off Prices Fork Road. Once completed, the Retreat at Blacksburg will consist of standalone cottages and connected townhouses instead of traditional apartment buildings. The development's owners hope that its unique layout and amenities will draw Virginia Tech students looking to live off campus next year.
