CTE Cocktails in Central

Central District held what they called CTE Cocktails.  It was a meet and greet evening with some of our members and invited guests from the Career and Technical (CTE) world within the Lynchburg surrounding area.  We had representation from all but two localities as they had prior plans and were not able to change.  Robert Lee (English Construction and AGCVA Chairman of the Board) and William Cook (Jamerson-Lewis Construction and Central District President) started off the evening with introductions.  Our CTE representatives were Robbie Dooley (Supervisor of Career and Tech Education) and Sonny Walker Morris (Skills USA Treasurer) and our AGCVA member reps were Robert Lee (English Construction, Inc.) and Paul Denham (Southern Air).  They all shared thoughts of what they need and want from us and likewise.  Our next step is to have a more business like meeting in mid to late July.  We hope to have more instructors so that we can hear their thoughts as well.  We all feel this was a great start to something that is very important to all of us in all of OUR DISTRICTS.  Please feel free to send an e-mail to either  jenny@agcva.org or courtney@agcva.org  if you have any interest in being a part of this or feel you have something to share with us.  We look forward to our next meeting to be announced soon.
