Vandeventer Black LLP attorney Michael D. Pierce has been named president of the South Hampton Roads Bar Association (SHRBA). The minority bar association for the Hampton Roads area, SHRBA helps members develop professional skills and knowledge for their profession.
Don Roger Damuth of Virginia Beach, recently passed away. He founded Damuth Trane in 1970 and his legacy as businessman and community leader are still with us, as Damuth Trane is thriving 50 years later. Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bernice, three sons, and six grandchildren.

The new Emergency Temporary Standards have been adopted by the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry’s Safety and Health Codes Board. As discussions continue to intensify regarding these new standards, we want you to know that AGCVA has your best interest in mind.
AGCVA held a virtual presentation on these new regulations led by Courtney Malveaux with Jackson Lewis. It was an interactive discussion on details and practical implications the standards will have on your company. Go to the Members Only section to view the recording.
Workforce Development
The purpose of these scholarships are to provide financial assistance to qualified and deserving students attending institutions of higher learning.
The M. Scott Bradshaw Memorial Scholarship is funded by the AGCVA Piedmont District as well as private donations from friends and colleagues and will be an amount up to $2,500 annually. The Piedmont District Scholarship Committee will determine the actual amount of the scholarships. Applications are due on or before August 7, 2020
Safety
Be aware that OSHA has been cracking down on COVID-19 jobsite violations in other cities. Construction firms that do not follow jobsite guidelines for social distancing, handwashing, and other coronavirus-related precautions.
While most safety resources revolve around hands-on best practices on the jobsite, we would like to remind you of the importance of mental health and emotional safety.
