This year will see a number of new surety regulations taking effect across the country. These will require contractors to obtain construction bonds or contractor license bonds in different amounts and adjust to new compliance standards implemented by sureties. Moreover, questions about the state of the economy and what contractors can expect in terms of government spending are also on the table and require attention.

The new AGCVA app is launching in May!  Users will gain access to important event information and updates as well as messaging and sharing with fellow attendees all in one place! Personalized, mobile agendas can be built out with sessions discovered in the app for an enhanced experience. The app will be available for both iOS and Android and will serve as AGCVA hub for content, collaboration and events all year round. We are excited for you to soon be able to download and begin exploring and connecting!

The purpose of these two (2) scholarships are to provide financial assistance to qualified and deserving students attending post-High School educational/training institutions and who plan to enter the construction industry in their professional careers, including but not limited to contractors, skilled trades, and engineering.

The way the construction industry has been taught to work and the way we’ve trained our workers are perfectly suited for a future world that no longer exists. Construction must shift from traditional knowledge workers to a new generation of learning workers. Knowledge workers are given specific information and skillsets and are expected to apply, grow and refine that knowledge over the course of their career. In contrast, learning workers are taught how to continually learn and apply new skills, adapting to changing work requirements as they arise.
