During the presentation, the following was said of Smith:
Anthony Smith is Vice President of Service Contracting of Virginia, a Pulaski-based business that boasts large construction projects that have included the Volvo Customer Experience Center, Pulaski Middle School, the Highlander Hotel, Radford University Arts Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity, and Virginia Tech Gilbert Street Office. This business has seen revenue growth of 230% in the last 5 years. Smith is very involved in professional organizations. He has been a long-time state and regional board member with Associated General Contractors of Virginia and is now state Chair of the Board of Directors. He was District Workforce Solutions Committee Chair from 2017-19 and served on the National Board of Directors. He was a Virginia Construction Industry Education Foundations member and past Chairman. Anthony is a Radford University Alumni Ambassadors and Chairman of the Athletic Foundation Board of Directors and served on the Radford University Presidential search committee. He is a member of the Radford City Schools CTE Advisory Committee and has been a mentor for the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneurs Academy. He was a representative on the Virginia Department of General Services Workgroup on State Procurement and Wage Practices 2020-2021. With all this, he finds time to be involved in youth soccer and has been on the SWVA Soccer Board of Directors from 2020 to present.
