Sargent Corporation Celebrates 30th Anniversary in the Mid-Atlantic Region
Sargent Corporation (Richmond District), an employee-owned heavy civil construction contractor, is proud to celebrate its 30th anniversary in the Mid-Atlantic region. What began as a single landfill project has evolved into a robust operation with offices in Ashland, Virginia, and Greensboro, North Carolina, serving clients across Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina.
The company's Mid-Atlantic journey started in 1994 with the Solley Road Superfund landfill closure project in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Leveraging innovative techniques like using ground-up recycled tires for landfill capping, Sargent set new industry standards and caught the attention of significant clients.
"Since 2015, we have more than doubled our workforce and project volume," said Justin Porter, Vice President of Sargent's Mid-Atlantic Region. "This growth is driven by the region's economic expansion, our diversified market segments, and our employee-owners’ exceptional training and development."

'Bust the myth’ with the Branch Girl Construction Experience
Roanoke invited girls ages 5-18 to bust the myth that the construction industry is “just for boys.”
The GIRLS Construction Experience Event was held on Saturday, Oct. 5, allowing young girls and teens to learn and experience real-life construction, engineering, and STEM construction concepts.
This event was a fun, safe, and judgment-free zone that was held at the Branch’s corporate headquarters in Roanoke Virginia.
