Norfolk Gaming Facility will be Built by Team that Worked on Portsmouth Casino
The construction team that built Rivers Casino Portsmouth has been chosen to erect Norfolk’s long-planned casino project.
A joint venture between Virginia Beach-based S.B. Ballard Construction Co. (Tidewater District) and Mississippi’s Yates Construction has been chosen to build the $750 million Norfolk facility, casino developer Boyd Gaming announced Tuesday.

Lebanon student wins national bricklaying championship in Las Vegas
A Lebanon High School student has achieved a remarkable feat on the national stage.
Booker Steffey competed in the World of Concrete Spec Mix Jr. Bricklayer 500 National Championship in Las Vegas this week and finished first.
Steffey secured first place by laying an impressive 137 bricks in just 10 minutes. Along with the title, he also took home the grand prize of $1,000.
