IIAV Convention Overwhelming Success – Agents Came “Out of the Gate”
“What did you think of that?” asked IIAV’s new Chairman Priscilla Hottle during the final banquet of the IIAV Convention to a resounding standing ovation.
Insurance agents and their company partners were certainly anxious to get “Out of the Gate” and set virtual meetings aside during the 2021 IIAV Convention and Trade Show at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront. All told, close to 450 insurance professionals attended the convention and the sold-out trade show.
The exceptional speaker line-up started with a high energy presentation by keynote speaker Meridith Elliott Powell and her powerful "nine step formula for thriving in uncertainty," providing the tools agents need to navigate today’s rapidly changing marketplace. RPS Area President Steve Robinson provided a fascinating update on how companies are navigating the cyber liability insurance market with an increase in ransomware events across the country. Other speakers included Dave Tralka, President & CEO of InsurBanc, Bureau of Insurance Commissioner Scott White and others bringing agents and company professionals up to date on the industry.
A highlight of course was the sold out trade show with over 75 exhibitors as the “brand new” Marriott’s ballrooms provided increased flexibility for companies to meet with agents from across the state.
“The quality of insurance company and agency services representatives at the IIAV Convention and Trade Show was as impactful as a year’s worth of meetings in the office. Next time I will bring our agency’s marketing manager since I could not see everyone I needed to by myself,” noted TrustPoint President Robert Iocco, CIC, CPA.
The IIAV 2021 Eagle Award/Agent of the Year and Company Person of the Year recipients were announced during the final banquet and background information on these awards is provided in this newsletter.
Plans are already underway for the 2022 IIAV Convention and Trade Show June 26-28 at the Marriott Virginia Beach, with the announcement of Robert Stevenson — an expert at building high performance cultures, improving efficiency and accelerating growth — as the Keynote Speaker.
