Richard Messler, CIC Named New IIAV Director of Industry Relations

Following a successful career with Erie Insurance, Richard Messler has joined the staff of the Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia as the new Director of Industry Relations. In this capacity, Rich will be meeting with independent agencies throughout the state — both IIAV members and non-members — as well as creating partnerships with insurance companies who are dependent on the independent agency distribution system.
Messler worked with Erie Insurance for over 19 years and before that with Hanover Insurance, State Farm and Continental. He continues his industry leadership in the footsteps of previous membership directors — Burr Workman, Danny Mitchell and most recently, Don Bragg who announced his IIAV retirement in June.
