On Sept. 17, Virginia ACSR’s were recognized at the 2010 IIAV Annual ACSR Tribute Day at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. The focus of the event was fine arts.
The day started with a guided tour of the renovated museum. Event attendees got a much deeper look into the artwork on display. At the conclusion of the tour, lunch was served in the Claiborne Robins Room. During the lunch presentation, all new ACSR designees were recognized. Diane Mattis, IIABA, was recognized for her hard work on the ACSR program and was also the keynote speaker.
Marilyn Donohoe, ACSR, from McLean Insurance Agency was named the 2010 ACSR of the Year. She will go on to compete for the title of National ACSR of the Year. The ACSR of the Year award recognizes the superior value customer service representatives bring to the independent agency system.
After lunch, Andrew Gristina and Rudy Racine of Travelers Inland Marine presented "Fine Art Basics." This seminar allowed students to become more familiar with the fine arts industry. They learned what objects are generally under fine art coverage, why there are different types of coverage, terms and conditions unique to fine art insurance and industry circumstances that impact coverage.
The ACSR Committee chose the Central Virginia Foodbank as its supporting charity. Three boxes of food were collected to help fight hunger in Virginia.
Overall, it was a great day and we can not wait to see everyone again next year! View the photos here.
We want to thank all of our sponsors, without whose contributions this event would not have been possible. Thank you for your continuing support!
