Our 113th Annual Convention has come together very nicely this year. At this point we are putting the final touches on some continuing education opportunities, fine tuning some of the "fun" activities and wrapping up the "behind the scenes" stuff that makes the convention a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.

I am very proud of this year’s speaker agenda. Robert Sutter, president of Keystone Sales Culture, Tom Minkler, member of the IIABA Executive Committee and Jacqueline K. Cunningham, Virginia Commissioner of Insurance form the nucleus of our program. Please visit our online convention agenda for more specific information about their topics.

In addition, we will have Matt McHatten, Main Mutual Group’s Sr. Vice President of External Operations, Lauren Berry, The Traveler’s Chief Business Development Officer and Underwriting Vice President for Inland Marine and Peter Wilcox, The Traveler’s Technical Director of Inland Marine Risk Control. Tuesday morning will present each attendee with the challenge of which breakout session to attend. Matt McHatten will talk about the consumer of the future while Lauren Berry and Peter Wilcox will discuss insurance opportunities as they relate to renewable energy.

The Monday trade show will provide an excellent opportunity to make new friends and business partners and renew old ones. For 2011 we will have 60 booths. As usual, there will be a trade show grand prize in addition to the many door prizes offered by the exhibitors.

Don’t forget, convention is also a time to kick back and have some fun. This year’s events include golf, bowling, skeet shooting and fly fishing. If none of those suit you, The Homestead offers many other activities to occupy your spare time.

We still have sponsorships and exhibitor space available but they are going fast. With February not yet done, we have already sold more than half of our booths. Reserve your spot now so you will not miss out on what will be an exceptional convention at The Homestead. Last year we did have to create a waiting list for exhibitor space.

In addition, there are plenty of sponsorships left that will give your organization excellent visibility at the convention. Our lineup of speakers, breakouts, classes and fun guarantee that this convention will be well attended by agency principals and managers.

Don’t miss the opportunity and the fun!! See you at The Homestead!!
