George L. "Jiggs" White, 86, son of the late George W. White and Grace Hosmer White, was born in Bell County, Ky, March 24, 1925. He died at 11:29 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in Campbellsville. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Soule Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a retired Navy chief in aviation electronics and was a veteran of World War II and Vietnam, having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He united in marriage to Nellie Anne Reid Oct. 5, 1954. She preceded him in death May 17, 1987. He united in marriage to Kathryn Hill Gilpin Sept. 15, 1990. She preceded him in death Jan. 7, 2011. He is survived by three daughters and one son: Cindy Amick and husband Sonny of Chesapeake, Donna White and partner Iva Creech of Wendell, N.C., Bonnie Fugere and husband Mike of Norfolk, and Doug White and wife Shayne of Gastonia, N.C.; seven stepchildren; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Douglas White and wife Edna and Ann White Tucker. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Hosmer White. The family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, Hosparus of Central Kentucky or Gideon Bibles and may be made at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY 42718.
