Federal: EEOC Releases Proposed Workplace Harassment Enforcement Guidance
The EEOC recently released their proposed enforcement guidance for workplace harassment for public review and comment. It is a comprehensive document detailing workplace harassment with examples updated to reflect changes including the SCOTUS Bostock v. Clayton decision, #MeToo movement, and new virtual issues such as online harassment. While not finalized and enforceable at this point, the public was invited to make comments until November 1.
Actions to take:
- While more informational at this point, when the guidance becomes final, you should have your policies, procedures, and training updated to reflect the latest guidance.
- As a reminder, subscribers of Affinity’s HR Support Plan have access to benefits which include the development of a new employee handbook or the review and updating of their current employee handbook. If you are interested, please reach out to Paige McAllister at paige@affinityhrgroup.com.
