Described as one of the industry’s best, Jamey Walthall, Virginia Field Sales Operations Manager for Main Steet America, was announced as the 2024 Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia Company Person of the Year.
When Jamey’s name came up during the nominations process, it was without question that he valued the relationship with the agents and instinctively knew the agency/client relationship. For over 20 years, Jamey has been actively involved in helping the independent agency system through company efforts and his involvement in IIAV. He served on the IIAV Board of Directors as an active participate and Associate Member Representative to the Board. He never failed to participate in discussions and championed the common business relationship between the companies and the agents.
IIAV’s incoming chairman Forest Wagner recalls that “Jamey always had great input at our meetings and noted that even today, Jamey is a member of the Virginia Association of Insurance Agents (VAIA) Board of Directors.” VAIA encourages people to look at the industry as a positive career choice, and “It’s not surprising that Jamey continues to serve on the VAIA Board.”
“Janey is a very enthusiastic and caring company rep,” noted Mike Funkhouser with Haun Magruder, Woodstock. “Jamey understands the carrier/agent dynamic and works tirelessly to assure both are meeting their goals. Jamey delivers bad news with empathy, and good news with gusto. I trust him implicitly.”
John Pellettiere, MSA Regional Sales Director also noted, this honor, “shows Jamey’s dedication to the state with the knowledge that his 20+ years brings back to MSA that in return helps his agents grow their book of business.”
IIAV Chairman, Ryan Andrew announced the award during IIAV’s 126th Annual Convention at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Marriott. The award will be presented to Jamey during the September meeting of the IIAV Board of Directors.
