While continuing to express dismay over the passage of administration sponsored legislation that attempts to put the state in the surety business, the Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia announced that they would appeal to Governor McDonnell to at least amend the bill and fix some of its obvious problems.

VAPAC is the state political action committee which collects funds from the general membership for distribution to candidates who have a proven interest in and support for insurance legislation; it studies voting records and accepts contribution recommendations from the Legislative Committee.

 Our 113th Annual Convention has come together very nicely this year. At this point we are putting the final touches on some continuing education opportunities, fine tuning some of the "fun" activities and wrapping up the "behind the scenes" stuff that makes the convention a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
