Chair: Paxton Helmer
"My name is Paxton, and I am a second year PT student at VCU. I am excited to collaborate with the board to serve PT and PTA students across Virginia, advocate for our profession on a state and national level, and further encourage student involvement.”

Vice Chair: Reiko Simmons
“I’m a first-year DPT student at VCU. I’m excited to be on the Board for the APTA-VA Student Special Interest Group because it’s an opportunity to dive in and learn the ropes of the APTA at the state and national levels. I’m looking forward to finding ways to empower PT & PTA students from around the Commonwealth to get involved in professional advocacy too, because our involvement truly impacts us both now and in the future!”

Secretary: Andrew Mullan
“My name is Andrew, and I am currently a first year PT student at Old Dominion University. I look forward to serving fellow students across the Commonwealth in advocating for the needs and continued development of our growing profession."

Director: Ashley Jones
“My name is Ashley Jones, a first-year DPT student at Marymount University. As the Director of the APTA Virginia SSIG, I am eager to foster student engagement at all PT/PTA programs in the state, and by doing so I hope we will see more student involvement.”

Treasurer: Harry Fischer
“My name is Harry Fischer, and I am a first-year DPT student at ODU. I am really excited to be able to provide opportunities for my fellow students as well as promote unity across the student body of Virginia.”

Nominating Committee Chair: Luke Coupland
“My name is Luke Coupland, and I am a second-year student at Shenandoah University. This is my second year serving the PT/PTA students of Virginia on the SSIG. I am looking forward to a successful year planning the Fall Summit for November!”

Nominating Committee Chair Elect: Manolya Martin
“I’m a first-year student at Shenandoah University. I’m excited to collaborate with fellow PT students throughout Virginia while getting more involved in the physical therapy profession!”

Nominating Committee Chair Member: Taylor Nunnally
“My name is Taylor Nunnally, and I am a PTA student at Riverside College of Health Careers (Class of 2021). I am passionate about helping PT and PTA students feel like their voice and involvement is wanted and needed. As a team, our active participation can help make a difference in the field; therefore, I am excited to hold the position of Nominating Committee Member for Virginia's SSIG.”

PTA Representative: Hallie Tidwell
“I am a first-year PTA student at Riverside College of Health Careers in Newport News. I am super excited to be serving as the PTA Representative! My main goal is to get more PTA students involved in events and the APTA VA! I cannot wait to see what this future holds in store!”
