New Chairperson of the Awards Committee

The Awards Committee would like to welcome their new chairperson, Gail Tarleton, PT, DPT, OCS! She is taking over after Debi Reese, PT, DPT, PCS, moved to Florida this past June 2021. Dr. Gail Tarleton is the Director of Clinical Education for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Mary Baldwin University / Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences. Dr. Tarleton has 28 years of clinical experience working in a variety of settings with a primary focus on orthopedics and industrial medicine. She is a certified Orthopedic Specialist and has been a faculty member at MDCHS since 2015. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Physical Therapy in 1993 and obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Utica College in 2014. Dr. Tarleton has worked with a wide variety of athletes with a focus on running form, orthotics, post-surgical rehabilitation, and industrial medicine.  She has a strong interest in community health and fitness.  As Director of Clinical Education, Dr. Tarleton is dedicated to fostering excellent communication skills with a focus on creating a successful clinical learning experience for the students and the clinical instructors.  Dr. Tarleton is the chair for the Scholarship Committee for the Mid-Atlantic Consortium and the Committee Chair for the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy National Physical Therapy Student Honor Society at MDCHS.
