Greetings VPTA! The Board of Directors, Executive Director and I have been busy planning and developing the organization for the future. We have recently updated all of the policies and procedures for the organization that will soon be posted on our brand-new website (coming soon!). We have also worked to develop a very fiscally responsible budget for 2017-2018.

Even though it may seem early, we have been planning our annual retreat and education for next spring. We will have lots of new and exciting changes. For starters, we are updating mini-conference. Instead of having a one-day course, we are moving to a full spring education event, offering at least one 2-day continuing education course. This approach allows us to provide more educational offerings in more areas around the Commonwealth. There will be more information coming in the future with regards to the topics offered, location and cost.

We are also working to move annual retreat into the Roanoke valley for this coming year. Annual Retreat is a very important, invitation-only meeting that allows all of our committees to work together to develop the plan for the coming year. These plans are combined to generate a full strategic plan and budget for the VPTA. This allows us to ensure that we are continuing to meet and exceed the needs of the organization and our members. If you would like to be invited to the annual retreat, please let us know by becoming involved in a VPTA committee. The 100 most active members will come together to plan and model the future of the VPTA
