VCU Physical Therapy was well represented at the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine conference in Montreal in September 2017.

Tanya Tripathi and Stacey Dusing presented a scientific poster on the “Concurrent Validity of the Bayley Cognitive Subtest and Early Problem Solving Indicator in Infants with Neuromotor Impairments.”

Christina Withers and Stacey Dusing presented a demonstration poster on their current collaboration between Sheltering Arms and VCU to conduct a clinical trial of fitness programs for adults with cerebral palsy.  The poster was nominated for Best Demonstration Poster – “Does participating in a supervised fitness program extend the benefits of episodic physical therapy more than a home exercise program for adults with cerebral palsy?”

On Friday September 8, 2017, the VCU DPT students in the class of 2020 were cloaked in the white coat ceremony, marking their transition into their professional career.  They were thrilled that Justin Moore, CEO of the APTA, the keynote speaker, inspired them to dream of their future career.
