Time to meet the new VPTA SSIG Executive Board! The current Executive Board would like to thank all of the applicants and the student members of the VPTA for their involvement in this election process.
The new Chair is Brooke Malloy from Radford University’s Class of 2019. Last year Brooke served on the board as the Core Ambassador to the APTA, and we are excited to have her lead us this year. The Vice Chair is David Furrow from Radford University’s Class of 2019, who served on the SSIG Executive Board this past year as the Treasurer. Jordan Miller from Old Dominion University’s Class of 2019 was re-elected as the Director. The new Treasurer is Dustin Winand from Emory and Henry College’s Class of 2019. Jessica Lee from Tidewater Community College’s Class of 2019 was elected to the Secretary position. Alexandra Richards from Emory and Henry College’s Class of 2019 will be serving as the new Core Ambassador to the APTA. The PTA Representative is Bree-Anne Egger from South University’s Class of 2019. Anna Wilson from Shenandoah University’s Class of 2019 was re-elected as a Nominating Committee Member. Bethany Bayles from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Class of 2020 will be serving on the board for the next 2 years as Nominating Committee Chair Elect, and will follow in the footsteps of the current Nominating Committee Chair- Kate Lomaka from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Class of 2019. We are excited to have a SSIG Executive Board with a mix of returning leadership and new members, and are looking forward to a great year!
