From the Education Chair:

Firstly, thanks to all who worked to make VPTA’s Spring Conference at CSM successful! Many of the participants expressed their gratitude and gave much by way of positive feedback.

Plans are underway for VPTA Fall Summit 2019. Stay tuned for the details, and information on speakers and educational tracks. I am excited and hopeful that it will be another successful conference that is well liked and well attended. Once registration opens, please act as soon as possible to be ensured of a seat! Details will be forthcoming.

If you have a desire to present a course for a future conference, please submit your proposal for consideration at vpta@apta.org. Courses of 4, 6, 12 and 16 hours are welcome.

Please also let us know what you as a member are interested in: in the areas of topics in continuing education for in person conferences, engagement with VPTA and opportunities for professional development.

While online education in healthcare is growing rapidly, there is an aspect to attending a conference in person that provides unparalleled benefits to your professional development. There is much to be gained by hands-on learning, collaboration, conversing with others, and having fun within the setting of a professional organization and educational context. Just ask a clinician who attended a conference recently!

May I also suggest that when you register for future VPTA events, encourage a colleague to attend and experience firsthand what the combination of networking, learning and collaborating can do for you in more ways than one!

Again, thanks to all Committee members who worked to make VPTA Spring Conference 2019 at CSM successful.

Sincerely, Mona
