VPTA SSIG Student Spotlight
Want to be featured in our Student Spotlight? The SSIG encourages all PT and PTA students to fill out the Student Spotlight Google Form to share your leadership experiences and why you value your VPTA membership. Students who participate are also encouraged to submit a photo along with their information on the form to be featured on our social media accounts. Through this effort, we hope to provide students with a better understanding of the benefits of being a VPTA/APTA member and improve membership carryover upon graduation.

APPLY TO BE THE 2019-2020 PTA STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE VPTA SSIG EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE!
The PTA Student Representative shall act as a liaison between the SSIG and all accredited PTA programs in the state by providing information to students and relaying student questions and concerns to the SSIG Executive Committee members, advise the SSIG Executive Committee on topics relevant to the PTA student and how to adjust SSIG events and policies to align with the curriculum of PTA programs and serve the SSIG in various capacities as determined by the Chair of the SSIG. This role allows the student to demonstrate personal and professional initiative and development that employers may appreciate on a resume.

Interested in Fundraising?
The VPTA SSIG is seeking students with a passion for fundraising to serve on a committee led by Luke Reardon, VPTA SSIG Treasurer. This committee will collaborate to plan and execute various fundraising initiatives that will contribute to enhancing the learning experience of Virginia PT and PTA students.

Community Service Recognition
The VPTA SSIG would like to recognize students and programs in Virginia who participate in community service outreach and projects! Students interested in sharing their experiences should write a short description highlighting the project and include pictures from the experience and submit them to Ashley Humphries, VPTA SSIG Director. These experiences will be shared on the SSIG social media platforms in order to recognize the hard work and service Virginia students contribute outside of the classroom!

Communications Committee Seeking Student Selfie Videos
Interested in sharing more with other students about the benefits of being a VPTA member? The VPTA Communications Committee is looking for students to submit short videos sharing why they enjoy being VPTA members. These videos will be utilized on the VPTA YouTube channel and other VPTA promotional materials!

We are working behind the scenes to set up panel and Q&A style discussions on an array of topics that are both popular and specific to Virginia. Stay tuned for future updates as we progress in planning!

We are working on revamping VPTA SSIG social media accounts by posting content regularly and promoting VPTA membership engagement. Some of our goals are to increase education and awareness of membership benefits, enhance connection between students across programs, and connect students with physical therapy-related content through social media.
