President's Message

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and is enjoying the cool fall weather. This is truly one of my favorite times of the year. Our Fall Summit was a huge success by providing great courses, a productive annual members meeting, fun trivia night PAC fundraiser, and wonderful interviews with adaptive athletes sponsored by our student SIG. It was truly inspiring and humbling to hear their stories, perspectives, and how physical therapy has helped to facilitate their journey. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard and gave their time to make these events successful, as well as everyone who participated.

Volunteers like these are the lifeblood of our chapter, and we are always looking to add to our team. We have a wide variety of ways to participate and engage based on your areas of interest and amount of time involved. If you are curious or have a desire to give back to your profession, I would encourage reaching out to our chapter at vpta@vpta.org, visiting our website, or attending a local district meeting to learn more.

As the year comes to a close, we are looking forward to 2022 which will bring exciting changes. Changes such as strengthening our strategic plan, improving how we offer continuing education across the state, along with utilizing a combination of virtual and live courses. We hope to see you all at an event this year, whether it be in-person or virtual. Thank you all for your membership and have a wonderful holiday.

Sincerely,

Tony Grillo, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
