2022 Annual Fall Summit a Success!

The 2022 Fall Summit was an event to remember! PTs, PTAs, students, and partners from across the state attended the event, held November 4-5 at the Emory & Henry College School of Health Sciences in Marion.

This year’s speakers featured Dr. Colleen Whiteford, practicing clinician and owner at Appalachian Physical Therapy; Dr. Skye Donovan, Director of the School of Health Sciences at Marymount University; Dr. Kyle Covington, board-certified neurologic specialist; Joseph Reinke, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and founder of FitBUX; Dr. Kathleen Savage, Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education of the Department of Physical Therapy at Emory & Henry College; and Dr. Eric Coley, Clinical Associate Professor and Program Director of the Department of Physical Therapy at Emory & Henry College.

The down-to-business portion of the summit was balanced with an entertaining Trivia Night hosted by the APTA Virginia PAC. President Tony Grillo won third place, PTA Beth Britt won second place, and PTA student and Summit volunteer Tamara Riddles took home first place and bragging rights for the year. Chase Edwards won the 50/50 raffle and generously donated his winnings to the PAC.

Thank you to all who attended this year's Fall Summit and to our sponsors for helping make the event such a success! And many thanks to all who participated in Trivia Night either in-person or virtually to move the needle on the physical therapy legislative agenda.
