T3 Design (T3) has been honored with the Glass Hammer Award by the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). This award honors companies in the transportation construction industry who have innovative programs and activities directed at successfully promoting women leaders within their organization. Extra credit is given to firms who also promote women leadership within the associations and community organizations they financially support.
T3 is celebrating their 15 year anniversary this year and has always been 100 percent woman-owned. They are a certified DBE/SWaM firm with an all-female executive team. In an industry where about 10-15 percent of engineers are women, T3 has always averaged around 40 percent female engineers, and one of the firm’s key goals is to empower female employees in the industry by encouraging and supporting them to take on leadership roles within the company and within industry associations. They have also instituted policies and programs specifically designed for career growth of both female and male staff.
Company President and owner, Amy Morris has been active in VTCA for over a decade, serving on VTCA’s Board of Directors, the Engineering Consultant Leadership Committee, and chairing the VTCA Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Task Force.
