To address concerns around supply chain issues, VTCA Associate Members and VDOT Central Materials sat down to discuss ways to promote consistent and expeditious processes. Industrial materials can encompass a wide range of products and materials, so VTCA and VDOT Materials believe the best way to address these concerns is through a VTCA Associate Member - VDOT Materials Cooperative Committee.
VDOT facilitates several other material cooperatives, including concrete, asphalt, aggregates and precast where VTCA members participate. These standing cooperatives will serve as good models for the Industrial Materials Cooperative Committee.
The Industrial Materials Cooperative Committee is in the very early stages of development. The first steps are to develop a committee mission, name formal committee members and schedule an initial committee meeting.
For the time being VTCA’s Rob Lanham and John Schuler from VDOT’s Materials Division will co-chair the committee and develop the initial steps.
For anyone interested in joining the Industrial Materials Cooperative Committee, please contact Rob Lanham at rob@vtca.org or 540-229-9662.
