VDOT Chief Deputy Commissioner Cathy McGee, P.E. Named Woman of the Year

Each year, Women in Transportation (WTS) recognizes women who embody the WTS pursuit of transportation excellence through the achievement and success of women. Recognitions are nominated by membership, and this year VDOT Chief Deputy Commissioner Cathy McGee, P.E. was named Woman of the Year. 
 
Cathy McGhee was appointed as VDOT’s Chief Deputy Commissioner in May 2022. McGhee has more than 30 years of experience in traffic engineering and system operations, intelligent transportation systems, and data and performance measurement. 

Prior to her appointment, McGhee served in a dual role as the Director of the Office of Transportation Research and Innovation for the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Director of the Virginia Transportation Research Council (VTRC).
