Late fall brings about our annual tradition of the Aggregates Safety Seminars. This year's Safety Seminars were once again conducted in Roanoke and Fredericksburg. We are happy to report that after a couple of years of drastically reduced attendance, participation was once again approaching pre-pandemic levels.
The Safety & Health Committee once again put together a great program that included the following safety presentations:
- Panel Discussions on Work Process Planning and Multilingual Communications
- Fall Protection – Jennifer Miles of Sales Solutions, Inc.
- MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) Critical Issues: Supervisor Enforcement Liability – Bill Doran of Ogletree Deakins PLC
- National MSHA Update & Communication Skills – Libby Pritchard of NSSGA (National Stone and Sand & Gravel Association)
- Mine Site Contractor Training – Cale Moore of Mineral Mining
- Safety Benefits of Rubber Truck Bed Liners – Greg Elliott of Valley Rubber
- Drilling & Blasting Safety – Steven Bell & Donald Smith of Austin Powder
The Safety Seminar presentations will be available to all members after the first of the year and are currently available to those that attended the programs.
Our Safety Seminars would not be possible without the support of our Sponsors!
