Carter Academy has current graduates of the Heavy Equipment Operator program available in the Richmond area for interviews the week of January 16.
The Carter Academy for Construction Related Trades provides heavy equipment operator and technician training to help fill the skills gap throughout Virginia for workers and employers looking to fill these positions. The Academy is certified to operate by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). The operator certificate program is offered at Carter Academy’s North, Central, and Southwestern Virginia locations, is led by a team of certified instructors and administrative staff. Together, they provide students with top-notch classroom, online, and hands-on instruction on multiple Cat® heavy equipment machines, as well as through state-of-the-art Cat simulators.
Participants complete 192 hours of combined classroom, simulator, hands-on machine, and online curriculum. This provides interested VTCA members with a pipeline of candidates who have already completed comprehensive training, including on-machine experience.
