NPEL and Approved List Updates

VDOT’s Materials Division maintains and regularly updates a list of approved materials for use on agency construction and maintenance projects. The approved "materials” list includes everything from concrete admixtures to sound barrier panels to coarse aggregates. The most recently updated list can be found here: Materials Approved Lists.
For those innovative products for which standard specifications do not yet exist, the Materials Division maintains another list, the "New Products Evaluation List (NPEL)”. The NPEL resource also includes an explanation of how a material developer and/or supplier can have a product placed on the NPEL. The most recent NPEL can be found here: New Product Evaluation List.
