So far this year, the mining industry has experienced seven fatalities. Three of these fatalities were a result of electrocution when equipment came in contact with overhead powerlines.

As a result, the Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA) has released a safety alert.

Please take a few minutes and review your site-specific safety training, especially pertaining to overhead power lines and electricity.

If you have any questions or need additional resources, please contact VTCA or Brian Furrow at MSHA at 276-321-6621.
