The Transportation Construction Management Institute, held at Virginia Tech, graduated its 34th class of industry leaders on February 24 in Blacksburg.  The annual program has a rich history of fostering industry leadership since it was established in the late 1980’s.  The Institute was established as a joint initiative of VRTBA (now VTCA), VDOT and Virginia Tech in response to the increased transportation funding established by the Baliles administration.  Industry leaders at the time realized the increased funding would put long term demands on a need for strong management and leadership skills in the transportation program.  With a robust and growing transportation construction program the need for strong industry leadership has never been greater.  For 34 years TCMI has a rich history of hundreds of graduates that have taken their positions as industry leaders successfully strengthening Virginia’s transportation program.

VTCA is proud to congratulate another talented group of women and men on their successful completion of TCMI.
