Ever wanted to run through a Quarry? Well, Saturday, April 29 at 9:00 am is your chance to run the Frazier Quarry 5K for a good cause.
WHAT IS IT?
The Frazier Quarry 5K gives you the rare experience of running/walking the terrain at Frazier Quarry located just five short miles from downtown Harrisonburg, VA. We welcome all skill levels at this chip timed trail adventure that features music amplified by the natural acoustics at the quarry, a short uphill climb and a backdrop unlike any 5K you’ve ever experienced. Event is rain or shine.
100% of net proceeds benefit the Stephanie Van Nortwick Scholarship. This scholarship was created in honor of a Harrisonburg teacher who passed away in a car accident last year. Stephanie was a high school and college runner who persuaded a group of local friends to run the inaugural Harrisonburg Half Marathon before she had her accident. Many of her students run high school track and cross country and the family has created a scholarship that will be awarded to a high school track and field athlete in her name.
