  Jessica Roby

At the start of this year, VTCA staff began making strides towards developing a summer intern program that would allow us to invest in our own future success by discovering new talent and future leaders. After much internal discussion, we began the search for an intern who was eager to learn, quick to adapt, and ready to gain real world experience in a professional setting. We are pleased to announce that VTCA found such a candidate, Jessica Roby. Jessica Roby will be joining VTCA as an Event Planning and Communications Intern from May to August to learn about our daily operations here and develop skills that will help further her future career.

Jessica is from Goochland, Virginia. She graduated from Goochland High School in 2020 as well as Reynolds Community College with an associate degree in social sciences. Jessica is about to start her senior year at Christopher Newport University studying communication. During her time at CNU, she has picked up two minors in psychology and gender studies as well as been inducted into the Communication Honors Society. She enjoys being the event planner for Ladies Adding Distinction in Every Stride (L.A.D.I.E.S.) club at her university and is excited to expand upon her knowledge of event planning through this internship.

During her time here at VTCA she will be assisting our staff in planning events, developing communications and social media campaigns, and assisting in day-to-day functions, as well as learning about the company and the transportation construction industry. We are very excited to bring her on board for the summer and hopefully continue with our internship program next summer.
