Late last month FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) announced the availability of $34 million in combined FY ’22 and FY ’23 grants for Advanced Digital Construction Management Systems (ADCMS). ADCMS involves technology that can be applied throughout the construction lifecycle to include planning and coordination, design, construction, maintenance, modernization and management, and asset management. Eligible applicants are the State DOTs, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, but applications will likely involve partnerships with universities and the private sector. Companies that are interested in partnering with state agencies (e.g., VDOT) to pursue these grants should check out the post at FHWA. There is also a webinar on July 18, hosted by Trimble, that will discuss how the private sector can support a competitive application. Grant applications are due by August 28, 2023.
