VTCA Welcomes Newest Emerging Leader Peer Group

VTCA embraces the development of the industry’s future by welcoming the latest cohort of emerging leaders. Twelve new members from the Associates, Aggregate Producers, Contractors, and Consultant Engineer membership categories started their two-year program by hosting Commissioner of Highways Stephen Brich, and Deputy Commissioner Cathy McGhee at their first meeting. Sharing personal insight into their career paths and personal experiences, the honored guests engaged the emerging leaders in thought provoking stories.
The 2023-2025 Emerging Leader Peer Group is Adam Floyd, Branscome; Jake Gusler, Boxley; Thomas Quinton, Luck Stone; Matt Cocowitch, Carter Machinery; Brent Alvis, Concrete Pipe and Precast; Madeline Cloud, Shirley Contracting; Jake Leffler, Kokosing; Ryan Overbay, W-L Construction and Paving; Mike Alemu, Prime AE Group; Brandon McAdams, VHB; Chad Lahaie, JMT; and Ken Schuenemeyer, ATCS.
VTCA’s Emerging Leader Peer Group program was established to develop and expand the foundation of leaders committed to the industry and VTCA’s mission, vision, and values. The two-year Emerging Leader Program is designed to foster leadership skills, provide cross discipline exposure, and engagement in supporting industry advancement through VTCA. Made up of VTCA member employees who have recently taken roles and responsibilities within their organization with a level of experience placing them on a trajectory leading to greater responsibilities and leadership within the industry.
Representing all four categories of membership, the members of VTCA’s Emerging Leader Peer Group are poised to make a lasting, positive impact on our industry.
VTCA’s First Emerging Leader Peer Group Wraps Up
Ten VTCA members are now the first alumni group of the Alliance’s Emerging Leader Peer Group. The two-year program, started in 2022, is built on the Alliance’s leadership committee programs that include selected the emerging leaders for their respective categories of membership.
