WHEN: Wednesday, January 22, 2025
TIME: 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The Department of Workforce and Career Development is proud to host the 2025 #LifeReady Career Rodeo Skills Challenge on January 22 at the Exhibition Hall of the Richmond Raceway Complex. The Career Rodeo offers ACE Center students the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of various stakeholders, most notably potential employers. During the event, CTE students from all three Advanced Career Education (ACE) Centers will solve work-based challenges by demonstrating their hands-on skillset. Industry partners will have the opportunity to give feedback, as well as leave with resumes in hand of students interested in summer or full-time employment. Last time, over 500 resumes were given out. There will also be space available for limited on-site interviews. The Career Rodeo Skills Challenge is the second of three events preparing students for future career success, with the culminating event being our CTE Letter of Intent Signing Day, which will be held on April 22. In the fall, the Life Ready Expo brought thousands of middle and high school students and their families together with industry partners to learn about career opportunities. It is through such career exploration and work-based learning experiences that our students can truly be #LifeReady.
Businesses must register to attend no later than January 6, 2025. Register your business.
