MSHA Makes Inspection Area Changes that Impact Virginia Operations

Recently the Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) made some realignments to inspection area responsibilities in Virginia. These changes were unveiled at the 2024 VTCA Safety Seminar on December 4. Brian Dotson, Norton District Administrator shared the below with the attendees at the Safety Seminar.
Mining operations located in the below Virginia Counties are now covered and inspected by the Beckley District:
- Bland
- Carroll
- Floyd
- Giles
- Montgomery
- Pulaski

Mining operations located in the below Virginia Counties are now covered and inspected by the Birmingham District:
- Brunswick
- Greensville
- Halifax
- Henry
