The Ides of March – New Year with New Board Members
As we approach the Ides of March when Romans traditionally recognized a new year, it’s also time to seek nominations for VTCA’s Board of Directors. We have several Board members who have “settled their debts of service” with VTCA. Bringing in new Board members is vital to the sustainability of VTCA – new ideas, thoughts and perspectives are always appreciated and keep VTCA thinking about the future.
According to VTCA By-laws: Aggregate Producer Members and Contractor Members elected to the Board of Directors will serve for a term of three (3) years and may serve successive terms. Beginning with the 2017 election cycle, Engineering Consultant Members elected to the Board of Directors also will serve for a term of three (3) years, and may serve successive terms, except that this change shall not affect the current Engineering Consultant Board of Directors position which expires in July 2017, and upon expiration shall be filled for one (1) additional two (2) year term, after which time shall convert to a three (3) year term. Associate Members elected to the Board of Directors will serve for a term of two (2) years, and may not serve successive terms.
If you or someone you know is interested in serving on VTCA’s Board of Directors which meets about four times a year and provides guidance on a number of issues impacting VTCA, please reach out to VTCA staff or Nominating Committee Chairman, Ryan Gorman.
What is the Nominating Committee Looking For? VTCA is always on the lookout for new volunteer leaders. VTCA’s leadership committees will discuss and submit suggestions of individuals who have been involved on several issues. We are looking for members who want to be engaged on guiding VTCA through issues and helping VTCA grow. Only one member from any firm can serve on the board at any one time. The Board meeting locations rotate around the state and are open to any member who wants to attend.
