Virginia 811 Announces Changes to Code 60

Beginning January 2, 2023, the Code 60 process for handling alternate marking schedules for utilities is changing.  The current process defaults a Code 60 to a Code 999 (no show) when the excavator fails to “Accept” or “Decline” the ticket before it is due.  With the change the Code 60 will default to become a Positive Response.

VA811 has created a Code 60 Resource Page on their website that provides details of the new process for handling alternate marking schedules.  Four virtual town hall meetings have been scheduled to explain the new process and answer questions.  The first town hall is Tuesday, December 27th at 1:00 p.m.  A link to the event is available on the Code 60 Resource Page.
