Mourad Bouhajja, P.E. has been named as VDOT’s Asphalt Program Manager in VDOT's Central Office Materials Division. Mourad will manage VDOT's asphalt program including all asphalt related specifications, quality acceptance policies and procedures, and maintenance of VDOT’s laboratory accreditation. Mourad will also serve as VDOT’s technical lead on the Department’s Balanced Mix Design implementation.
With over 30 years of experience in the materials history in both the public and private sectors, he brings a wide knowledge of the asphalt and construction industry, including plant and lab operations, acceptance policies, pavement preservation, asphalt mix designs and training. Most recently, he was the Marketing and Technical Director to CRH Americas Materials, Inc serving as a resource to their asphalt, aggregate and concrete companies in the Appalachian Materials Region. Mourad served as VDOT's Asphalt Program Manager position in the early 2000's.
Mourad is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia, West Virginia, Minnesota and Florida. He earned his BS and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
